Welcome 2018 National CAFO Roundtable Participants!

The 2018 National CAFO Roundtable supports the implementation of animal agriculture programs nationwide as a platform for sharing best management practices, showcasing innovative state programs and initiatives, highlighting modern technologies, facilitating discussion on national program enhancements and improvements, identifying state resource needs including tools, training and guidance, and proposing solutions to challenges and barriers faced by the regulators and other stakeholders.


The CAFO Roundtable is the biannual meeting of state AFO/CAFO regulators and EPA regional and headquarters representatives. Attendees include:
        • State managers, permit writers, inspectors, and compliance staff involved in regulating AFOs/CAFOs
        • EPA Headquarter and Regional staff involved in AFO/CAFO regulation
        • Partnering state and federal agency staff that provide technical and/or regulatory assistance to AFOs/CAFOs
        • Invited guests


The Riverside Hotel in Boise, Idaho is a faimly friendly establishment located on the riverwalk, within 1 mile of the Payette Brewing Company, Boise Trolley Tour, and Ann Morrison Park. The Idaho State Capitol Building and Boise State University are also within 3 miles of the hotel. The smoke-free hotel features two restaurants, an attached winery, and an outdoor pool. Free buffet breakfast is provided, as well as free WiFi in public areas, free self parking, and a free area shuttle. Other amenities include 2 bars/lounges, a fitness center, and a coffee shop/café. All 303 rooms feature comforts like pillowtop beds, refrigerators and microwaves. The Riverside Hotel features over 21,000 square feet of flexible meeting space accommodating small gatherings to grand dinner events.

The 2018 National CAFO Roundtable field trip will occur on Tuesday, Septemebr 25, 2018. Please note that the bus will likely start loading in the morning between 8:00am - 8:30am. You should plan to get breakfast before the bus leaves, lunch will be provided during the tour, and we plan to have you back for dinner time. You may wish to bring water and/or snacks with you. Participation on the field trip is limited to the size of the bus we will be utilizing (~50 seats). The $25 fee is intended to help offset the costs for the bus, lunch, and other field trip related incidentals. Thank you for understanding.
